Vojnuv Mesec is one of the eldest settlements in Bohemia. The monastery of Grey Monks is reckoned to be a founder of this settlement. In about 1430 the village got the tag “Vojnuv- Vojny’s” after the last man of the family of Jan Vojna from Steti (from Mestec lately). Many wars went down markedly in the village history. In 1643 it was Swedish who burst into the region. Vojnuv Mestes had to pay off 500 zlotys to Napoleon’s soldiers. The two World Wars took their victims as well, the two memorials set in the village square are proofs of it. There are textile factories “Bukovsky and sons” and “Rasta” which are connecting to the village weaving tradition.
